Review: Mario Badescu (Rose Water Spray vs. Pixi Glow Mist)
A glowy and dewy finish of the skin after using makeup is key to a great overall aesthetic. My favorite YouTube influencers and bloggers always seem to have a radiant complexion, and who doesn’t want their face to be nourished and hydrated? I have often noticed these beauty bloggers tend to use two key products for their makeup setting and hydrating, The Pixi Glow Mist and the Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray. So I figured I would try them out and see if they were hype!
Before we begin, make sure you’re ordering Mario Badescu from a legitimate retailer, NOT from a counterfeit seller. For your convenience, here is the Amazon link to an authentic Mario Badescu retailer.
Let me tell you what these two products promise:
My impressions:
Pixi Glow Mist:
The bottle itself was adorable and there seemed to be an oil on the top of the product. I was confident that it would hydrate my skin perfectly and work fairly well, as it was highly reviewed. I used it before my makeup the first time around but I wasn’t too happy with it. It has an unpleasant odor and I got some product on my lip as well. I did my makeup in-full and used the glow mist to set it. It worked fairly well but I had to use multiple sprays for an even setting and adequate finish. It wasn’t what I expected based on prior recommendations, the product is usually held in very high esteem. It costs $24.79 on Amazon, which I find quite a lot.
Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray:
For some background on the product, the rose water spray is a multi-purpose hydrating mist that can be used anywhere, and is suitable for all skin types. The company suggests you can even spray it in your hair or the skin on your body. It’s perfect for locking in hydration and excellent for setting your makeup, providing a lasting hold. There is no oil on top the product, and has the additional benefit of a much lower price tag than the Pixi Glow Mist, at only $12 for a bigger bottle on Amazon. The biggest benefit is that this spray feels lighter on my skin, which might also be due to the fact that I just felt like I need to spray less of it to set my face. It smells so so good!!! In contrast to the glowing mist, you will want to keep this rose water spray with you all the time and just use it to refresh your skin during the day because it feels refreshing, non-greasy and smells lovely! I find myself using this spray often and definitely believe it offers the better value.
Result:
If you are looking for a makeup setting spray or a refreshing, hydrating spray that’s easy and enjoyable to use, I would highly recommend the Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray. The smell is wonderful and the face is left refreshed, hydrated, softened, and dewy. You can also use it without wearing makeup, if you’re looking to feel refreshed and see visible signs of a radiant, glowing complexion.
If you’re looking to try out some other great Mario Badescu products, we also highly recommend the Enzyme Cleansing Gel as a sensitive daily wash and the Glycolic Acid Toner, which helps to lighten up dark spots on the skin very quickly.
These two products really help any treatment regimen and balance out the skin quickly.
