Lower Price Tag
At a price tag of under $60.00, the FitBit Zip seems to be catered to those who just may be price sensitive. If the cost seems to be a major consideration when you are looking for a fitness tracker, purchasing one of these FitBit Zip just may be the right option for you. Not only that, but who doesn’t love a good FitBit challenge with friends?
Designed to be Compact
If you are looking for a tracker that can be hidden easily, the FitBit Zip is just what you are looking for. When I state that this tracker is tiny, I mean that it is smaller than pieces of chocolate that I have seen. Its total size is only 0.2 X 1.2 X 1.8 inches and it only weighs 0.3 ounces. This little health tracker comes in a rubbery little case with a clip so you will be able to clip this guy to your belt or other pieces of clothing. A USB plug-in device that will enable you to wirelessly sync to your personal FitBit account.
This fitness tracker comes in your choice of colors, black, white, magenta, lime as well as blue. Within the center of the rubber body is a screen that displays a dot matrix that show you what time it is, how many total steps you took during the course of the day, what that distance is in miles, how many calories all that walking burned, as well as a sweet little happy face that shows you that you are doing a great job.
There are no complicated buttons to try to figure out, instead you just tap that smiling face in order to get the information that you are looking for. This display also goes into a sleep mode so it does not wear down the battery so quickly.
Wirelessly Set Up
The FitBit Zip is a unique fitness tracker in the aspect that other trackers need to be connected to your computer with a cable as well as being recharged. This little compact tracker is totally wireless and it is run by a watch battery, which can be replaced very easily when it dies, but do not worry like a watch it should last quite a while.
After you remove your new FitBit Zip from the box you will want to set it up. Take the USB syncing connector that comes with the FitBit and plug it into your computer. Here you will find that the FitBit software download has been initiated. It will also ask you to sign into your FitBit account, or if you do not have it will want you to create one.
The Web Account
The FitBit web account is actually the heart of the system and it works great with other applications that are available for download such as MapMyRun, and Lose It!. In order for your new tracker to work properly, you will need to enter such data as your weight, height, sex, as well as your age. Do not worry all of the information that you enter stays private.
The other neat thing about the web account is that you are able to track your calorie intake, this is done by logging the foods as well as your drinks into the account on a daily basis.
The FitBit Zip will only track your running, jogging, and walking but this is not unlike any other tracker on the market.
A journal section also appears in your web account, this is where you just may want to keep notes, such as blood pressure, sleep, and other such things.
Would I Recommend the FitBit Zip?
I found that this fitness tracker although small was very effective, it actually does, in fact, meet the basic needs that anyone who would be looking for a tracker would want and better yet at an affordable price.
I found that it does not look quite a sharp as other Fitness Trackers, but I believe that when you are looking to burn calories and stay healthy who really actually things about the style, and I found the little raindrop shape to be cute anyways. I also liked the fact that you could have different competitions with your friends and family such as who takes more steps within a weeks’ time frame.
