Review: O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Cream (Magic or not?)

With winter and rough, dry skin upon us, is there a magic solution to keeping our hands soft and smooth? Allow me to preface this post by saying that I am Mark’s wife. After he started the website, he told me to feel free to post reviews as well, and in this case it seemed quite relevant! The product that we will review today isΒ O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Cream.

Before we begin, make sure you’re ordering O’Keeffe’s from a legitimate retailer, NOT from a counterfeit seller. For your convenience, here is the Amazon link to an authentic O’Keeffe’s retailer.

This hand cream is a gentle and efficacious moisturizer that relieves dry, rough hands. I work as a real estate agent, meaning I often have to spend an hour or two with a client showing him or her around the property in freezing temperatures. Even though I’ve only been on the field for the past six years, when I look down on my hands, I feel as though they have aged 20 years! I’ve tried many different hand creams in search of hydration but nothing was powerful enough to battle the frostbite, redness, and dryness I endured on a daily basis. I wondered, would O’Keeffe’s offering provide relief and a suitable treatment solution?

Results were remarkable.

A before and after pic after using the hand cream for a month:

Quite the difference, huh?

Review: O'Keeffe's Working Hands Cream (Magic or not?) 1

This hand cream has become a lifesaver for me. I no longer walk around with stinging cracks all over my hands. I can’t explain how painful it was to come home every day and see actual blood seeping through all the small cracks along my knuckles. It’s especially embarrassing whenever I have plans with my hubby to go out on the weekends but my hands look like a total wreck.

What I also loved about the product is that it is not greasy at all and there is no product build-up or residue, it feels silky and soft. This allows for ease of application, even just prior to work in client-interfacing situations.

A 3.4 ounce ofΒ O’Keeffe cream goes for under $10, which considering the results is honestly quite the steal. I’ve stocked up on a couple containers, and they come in a perfect traveling size. Additionally, there is no fragrance in the product or scents of chemicals or heavy perfume.

  1. I too struggled with painful cracked fingertips that made daily duties miserable! πŸ™ I started researching O’keefe’s Working Hands Cream, and with such positive ratings, I gave it a try! WOW!!!! This stuff is AMAZING!!! I am only on day 2 and my hands are significantly better!!!! It’s a miracle! I have been using disposable gloves even to dress because of how dry my fingertips were, they kept catching on all of my clothing causing the little slits to reopen and snag my clothes (UGH)! This stuff is beyond worth the price tag, in my opinion! I am so grateful to have discovered this little green container of magic! It also has a finger friendly grip top!!!! β™₯πŸ€— Happy hands is what you’ll have after you give this magical cream a try!!! β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†

  2. Hi everyone my name is Melrose, I work in the medical field constantly washing my hands it becomes so dry and black, my co-worker introduce working hands to me , WoW!!!! It’s Amazing!!!!! To see the beauty of my hand. My heal is crack so am going to try it, I was so a shame when I go to the salon to do my nails……Thanks to my friend and working hans.

  3. This cream is magical I would say. I used to be in hand pain every winter before using this cream. My fingers cracked and dry in cold weather. But now I am very happy. Will buy this cream for my parents also.

  4. Working as a nurse and washing my hands constantly coypled with having a reaction to the hand sanitizer, my hands were raw and my fingers would swell. I couldnt even wear my wedding bands. Once I started using Okeefe’s I saw such a dramatic change. I have veen wearing my wedding bands going on 3 weeks consistently. First time that has happened in 4 years.

  5. I agree with all the above comments. This product is really wonderful, in addition to the FACT that it DELIVERS everything it claims quickly and completely, I especially love its non-greasy quality. I have always hated the greasiness of hands creams, causing me to delay using them until their effectiveness was limited. But with Working Hands I’m confident that my hands will not have the unpleasant nature that most creams cause, so I don’t end up washing it off soon after applying.

  6. Hi I’ve bee using Okeefe’s working hands for a few months. I’m sorry to say it hasn’t helped. My hands are very dry and cracked. What can I do to get relief

    1. Try Cetaphil Restoraderm PRO. It comes in a pump and is the best hand lotion I have ever used, and I am a hand lotion addict. This can also be used on your face, and is 1% colloidal oatmeal. However I don’t use it on my face, I use something different. But, I have tried it on my face and it worked OK.
Hope this helps. I have ordered from Amazon at a good price.

  7. I brought a jar of working hands cream recently. For dry cracked hands. I had to stop using it after about a week or so as it made the condition worse I found. Very red and flakey the skin became. So I started using e45 cream and that has improved the problem. I have contacted the company who produce the product and they are going to send me a voucher as I am returning the rest of the jar of cream. Sometimes some people have a reaction to certain products unfortunately.

  8. The cream has been changed, sometime in 2017 or 2018 it became softer and not nearly as effective plus the price jumped by 50%. This product seems to be too good to market but they are cashing in on it’s name and reputation.

It’s sad because it used to really work, now we just pay for the same results we get from any cream.

    1. Yes. I think they have expanded their product line for specific parts of the body, but the hand cream does work on the arms and legs as well. I work in food and have gotten burns on the arms as such and also had a sun burn on the leg and used this to take care of the problems. All blemishes disappeared within two weeks. This product works wonders. A person needs to apply it and then let it sink into the skin overnight for bigger jobs, but it does do the trick, better than any other product out there.

  9. I question the ingredients that are now being used in Working Hands. I have used O’Keeffes since the very beginning back in Redmond, OR produced by a nurse that needed a better hand cream. For 25 years in picture framing business, I could keep my hands from drying out and cracking. About a year ago, I became frustrated when it left my fingers fuzzy and cracking. I have tried the Skin Repair for 3 months with no change at all. I hate to think I am going to have to try other products, but finger cracks are very painful. Was Aloe Vera in the original formula and if so, has it been eliminated?
