Review: Milk Makeup It’s All A Blur (#1 Variety Set?)
When reading about Milk Makeup’s It’s All A Blur set, I figured there was nothing that could match the cosmetics company’s “Meet The Fam” set or luxurious “Sunshine Oil” products that I have come to love, adore, and review to suggest for others who are struggling with various skincare concerns.
If you’re like me and enjoy trying out a few small products on a discount before splurging, this is a perfect option for you.
The lesser known “It’s All a Blur” comes with 7 different mini must-haves and brand bestsellers, and comes with a wide variety of cosmetics, hair items, and skincare must-haves that will satisfy even the pickiest consumers.
It’s complete with makeup removing pads, a natural and refreshing dry shampoo, a refreshing face mist, Ubame Mascara, a mini lip color, a mini highlighter, and one “Blur Bag,” that is reusable and can be used in the future to store cosmetics or toiletry items as needed.
This review will cover a main overview of the featured collection, briefer reviews on the included products in the collection, some main pros and cons to bear in mind prior to purchase, as well as a final verdict, to help you make a more informed purchasing decision prior to any point of sale.
Review: Milk Makeup It’s All A Blur
Milk Makeup’s “It’s All A Blur” collection comes with 6 mini sized cosmetics, hair, and skincare items, along with one reusable and durable “blur bag.” The latter is perfect for storing cosmetics and using as a go-to makeup bag in the future.
This item is a perfect introductory product for those new to the line who want to sample out different brand products in several different categories (all of them bestsellers for the line), and also makes a lovely gifting item for a recipient in your life who enjoys cosmetics and beauty items.
It reminds me of the Peter Thomas Roth “Meet Your Mask” Kit we recently reviewed with flying colors.
While the line is vegan and gluten-free, it really stands out amongst its competitors in terms of quality and features of use, and the collection comes complete with items that prove longevity and durability despite the small sizing.
As mentioned, even for non-vegans and those who simply enjoy clean skincare products and cosmetics that prove effective results with minimal amounts of products needed to provide lasting results, the included items in the set provide lasting results and exceed benefits with use even in comparison to higher price point items and formulations with stronger anti-aging type ingredients (i.e. retinoids, lactic acids, glycolic product).
Milk Makeup It’s All A Blur Items
Here are some more concise reviews on the included products in the set:
Milk Makeup Face Mist
The face mist product included in the set is refreshing and a perfect morning pick me up if you’re feeling dehydrated, tired, or experiencing any dullness or puffiness. It’s ideal for use throughout the day if you are feeling parched, and is also a suitable multi-use product.
It can be used prior to a makeup application to prime, and can also be used after finishing your daily makeup routine for a longer hold and more radiant finish.
The best part of this soothing product with all natural ingredients is it has the additional benefit of soothing and treating and redness you may be experiencing, and alleviating dry skin, or any signs of topical irritation.
Milk Makeup Natural Dry Shampoo
While I am typically not a fan of dry shampoos and have tried many on the market, even those in rather expensive price ranges, Milk Makeup’s Natural Dry Shampoo definitely stands out amongst the crowd and I would absolutely recommend this for anyone seeking a refreshing pick-me-up.
Formulated with fresh natural ingredients and devoid of any parabens, sulfates, or harsh additives, the dry shampoo has a powder texture that does not leave any white streaks or residue left behind in the hair.
It is incredibly refreshing and naturally absorbs any excess oil, making it ideal for extending the duration of a hairstyle or blowout, and making it a go-to for those with color treated hair looking to extend the duration of treatment. The scent is a lovely and light white tea odor, and adds texture to the hair while providing a cleanse sans any shower.
It can be used at the end of the day or in the morning for a more revived aesthetic, and truly cleans and refreshes the hair without any typical issues associated with the use of dry shampoos. It repairs radiance if your hair is looking dull and improves any greasy aesthetic, while actually lasting throughout the day.
If you are in a rush, unable to wash your hair at the last minute, or looking to remove excess oil while extending the duration of a color treatment, I would highly recommend this product.
As a self-proclaimed skeptic of the dry shampoo category in general, I can safely say this product is a winner and the best I have tried in comparison to any other product in the category on the market.

Milk Makeup Ubame Mascara
This smear-proof mascara is perfect for a natural aesthetic that adds full-volume while also lengthening, and provides a jet black finishing look. It does not smudge throughout the day or leave the lashes feeling crunchy or cakey in any way. It lengthens and defines the lashes in what is close to having eyelash extensions, but with a fairly more natural aesthetic and is very nourishing and gentle (does not irritate the eyes).
The wand is ideal for reaching inner and bottom lashes, and after use I received compliments about my eyes, which I can only attribute the use of this product to be transparent.
The product lasts all day without any errors or smudges (for up to 12 hours), but is also easy to remove using a suitable cleanser or soap. It is also wearable and comfortable throughout the day, and does not feel like you have applied any makeup.
Ubame Oak Charcoal in the product formulation help to add depth and dimension, while giving the lashes a deeper, darker and smokey color, which is equally parts sexy and naturally attractive.

Milk Makeup Mini Lip Color in Grrl
The lip color provided in the set is a deep plum, which is complimentary to a wide variety of different complexions, skin types and colors, and undertones.
The demi-matte finish provides a 30% pigment (an average in the industry is around 10% or less), meaning less product goes a longer way. Enriched with Shea butter, coconut oil, and grapefruit peel oil, the formulation is also incredibly hydrating and fails to dry out or crack the lips throughout the day.
If desired, you may also wish to apply a gloss over the product or a balm over or underneath the product.
One of the best features to this lip color is not just the smudge-proof finish that has staying power even following food or drink, but the long-wear hold provided. The color lasts throughout the day for hours without requiring frequent reapplication, and actually feels moisturizing on the skin.
While plum is not a color I would typically opt for, I was taken aback by the compliments I received while wearing it, and it is definitely flattering on a wide range of skin complexions. Due to the moisturizing properties in conjunction with the matte finishing aesthetic with a long hold, this is definitely a product I would recommend, and it works well for both day or night.
Milk Makeup Mini Highlighter
The included mini-highlighter in the collection is a very flattering rose gold color that is suitable for varying complexions and provides a natural, dewy type finishing aesthetic following application.
The universal brightening product utilizes a blendable micro-shimmer with natural oils for added hydration, for those with dry or dull skin seeking improvements in radiance. The product is free of any parabens and sulfates, and is infused with mango butter and avocado, which absorbs instantly on contact with body heat, leaving skin with a glowing appearance and a more luminous finish.
It blends quite well over foundation and is incredibly nourishing and hydrating, and devoid of any shimmer or sparkle quality.
If you’re seeking a very natural or sheer look, a single swipe will offer a perfect natural glow and restore a healthy appearing complexion. Because the product is incredibly buildable, you can also use more if desired and achieve a more dramatic or nighttime look.
It is soft, smooth, and leaves the skin looking revived and refreshed. Even as a relative novice to the highlighting category, I would certainly recommend this product as a go-to, and if offers plenty of versatility.
Milk Makeup Biodegradable Micellar Water Makeup Remover Wipe
While there is only one remover included in the set, which is slightly disappointing as it certainly does not seem to be an expensive item and may simply serve the purpose of making the collection itself appear larger or more complete, the wipe did remove all makeup without leaving any residue behind.
Following use, skin seemed refreshed, clean and radiant, and it eliminated the need for a typical gel cleanser or bar soap. With that in mind, as great as the product is, the inclusion of only a single-use remover wipe is a bit unfortunate. Some companies even provide samples of products (i.e. First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads) that include about 20 wipes or so for free.
Good product, but in all transparency, serves the purpose of making the collection seem more complex and full than it is.
Milk Makeup Blur Bag
The silver Blur Bag included in the set is trendy and sleek, and perfect for storing anything from cosmetics items to toiletries to jewels (or whatever you desire).
It is quite durable and portable and a great way to reuse an item for as long as you desire even after running out of product. It’s always a pleasure to see companies include portable bags within collections and sets, as it is not always the norm, but serves a longer term purpose once products run out.
This is also an excellent bag to toss in your gym tote with you to have on hand for any shower items or lotions.
Milk Makeup It’s All A Blur: Worth It?
While I found all of the included products provided excellent benefits with use and think this is a perfect starter set for someone new to the brand, or an existing fan looking to try out several new products without splurging on a single item, there are a few downsides to consider as well.
With that in mind, here are some key pros and cons to bear in mind prior to purchase:
Pros
- Vegan and cruelty-free company- company does not test on any animals, use any animal product for any of its formulations, or during any of its manufacturing processes
- The set makes an excellent introductory item for those new to the brand and seeking variety and looking to try out some of the lines bestsellers
- All of the included products are safe and suitable for those of all skin types, including sensitive (barring any topical allergy, particularly to lemon peel or coconut extract ingredients)
- Lovely gifting option for recipients on your list who enjoy cosmetic sets and beauty items, especially if they are fans of clean products and you are uncertain of their skin type or preferences
- None of the included products created any topical redness, irritation, allergic reaction, or breakouts even with sensitive and acne-prone skin
- The cosmetics items included are universally flattering and suitable for varying complexions and skin colors
- Excellent item if you are already a fan and looking for a travel set or simply more variety and a way to try out other products in the collection
- All of the products are travel friendly, for flights or simply easily tossed in a gym bag or purse
- The included “Blur Bag” can be reused for months/years to hold cosmetics, toiletries or items of your choice
- The products make a great way to try out some different items and bestsellers at a strong discount to retail value, to then purchase full size items of products you have enjoyed if desired without any initial fear splurge
- For those with any allergies or sensitivities, all of the included products are free of talc as well as gluten
Cons
- While they do provide longevity in comparison to what you may anticipate, you must know that these are mini sizes and are not a full sized collection, and represent trying out several bestselling items
- Price: in comparison to variety and longevity, this seems like quite the worthy splurge, however some may still consider this a hefty price point for the category
- Proving only one makeup remover wipe that is packaged largely only serves to make the set seem psychologically more full, and while it is a great product, the company certainly could have included at least more than a single wipe for use, as you cannot accurately even ascertain longterm benefits with use with a single pad (this should truly be more of a sample with purchase if anything)
Money-Back Guarantee Policy
The manufacturer, Milk Makeup, has a strong return and exchange policy that honors full refunds upon dissatisfaction or allergy, and this policy favors the consumer, both new and returning.
If you are dissatisfied with the use of any of the included products in the collection, or if they do not work for your skin or provide suitable cosmetics benefits, or you experience any product allergy or reaction to any of the formulations, you may elect to return it at any time.
In this case, you will receive a full refund equal to the entire purchase price of the item.
If the item was received as a gift (without receipt), the policy applies for an even exchange, and this policy is applicable to online purchase, as individual store policy may vary depending on location and distributer. You will have to consider that in this case, the entire set will need to be returned, as individual products are not available for return or exchange.
Milk Makeup It’s All A Blur: The Final Verdict
Milk Makeup’s It’s All a Blur Set is a perfect and travel-friendly collection that proves suitable for all skin types, tones, and complexions.
It includes some bestselling variety products with a strong discount to retail value, and certainly is the best “mini” or travel collection I have tested and reviewed to date.
The universally flattering colors in conjunction with the mascara in the set and multi-use spray, along with the reusable Blur Bag, make this a justifiable splurge, and it is definitely an item I would recommend to both current fans of Milk Makeup and those new to the line.
You do not have to be vegan or gluten-free to enjoy the products, but if you are that may serve as an added bonus.
If you’re looking for vegan or gluten-free foods, you may also want to check out our review on Sun Basket if you have a moment, which caters to every diet.
For the rest of us, the formulations are incredibly clean and only formulated with very fresh and natural ingredients that are suitable for those with even the most sensitive skin.
If you’re looking for a trial kit or travel set, or simply looking for a great savings compared to product longevity and retail price, this is highly recommended!
