Review: Marvis Toothpaste (Delicious & Pearly White: Worth It?)

When we think about toothpaste, it’s typically just on our regular household grocery list right below washing detergent and avocados. But Marvis Toothpaste is a tiny bit pricier for (what claims to be) the best natural toothpaste and a completely different brushing experience.

In 7 different flavors, with the Whitening and Classic Strong Mint coming in as the bestselling for the brand, you can find them at local stores, Amazon (for best pricing options) and even more upscale retailers.

But are they worth it for the price in comparison to regular drugstore toothpaste? Will they help you get a whiter, dazzling smiling that’s photo-perfect?

I was interested in trying out a few of Marvis’ toothpaste options because of the whitening benefits, but also because of the extremely interesting flavor options (like Jasmin, Cinnamon, and orange mint).

You can opt for the Classic Strong Mint with whitening benefits, which is the main focus of our review or purchase a smaller trial set to try them all out.

Before we begin, make sure you’re ordering Marvis Toothpaste from a legitimate retailer, NOT from a counterfeit seller. For your convenience, here is the Amazon link to an authentic Marvis Toothpaste retailer.

So are they just hype? We reviewed it first so you wouldn’t have to.

Review: Marvis Toothpaste

Marvis’ Toothpaste in the most popular selling Classic Strong Mint flavor is a 3.8 oz peppermint flavored fresh product with whitening benefits that leaves you feeling incredibly refreshed and clean after each use.

Based on an Italian processing method than ensures a dense formula, maximum protection, whitening enhancing benefits, plaque and tartar control, and the whitest smile possible, this is a toothpaste unlike any usual one you’d pick up at the local CVS.

The ingredients and formula are also designed to protect and enhance the teeth and gums all day, so the breath stays fresh and the mouth stays protected from damage and decay.

Out of all the whitening products, strips, toothpastes, and gum products I have tried, I have to say Marvis easily takes the number one spot as the best oral care product that comes the closest to a dental cleaning without the stress and possible pain involved.

While the Marvis Classic Strong Mint is the top seller and a personal favorite, and also great for whitening benefits, Marvis offers different options if you have other flavor preferences.

Compared to the benefits and refreshing feel all day, the small extra splurge definitely seemed worth it!

Marvis Toothpaste: Other Flavor Options

Excluding a few limited edition flavors and a couple of others (i.e. licorice), we tested out most of the Marvis toothpaste collection, which can be purchased in a trial size option/collection set if you want to try them all out. Here’s a look at some of the flavor options and why you may like them:

*It’s important to remember that flavor rankings are always subject to individual preference!*

Marvis Whitening Mint

While the Classic Strong Mint (with whitening benefits) tops my list for both flavor and color-enhancing benefits, I do have to admit that the traditional whitening mint toothpaste works the best out of the entire collection if you’re just seeking tooth whitening alone. While the flavor is not as great as the Aquatic and Classic Strong, this version still leaves your mouth feeling incredibly fresh and clean (again, like you just had a dental cleaning).

In terms of whitening benefits, it not only tops the list but when used continually over time it’s comparable to a lot of strips and systems sold over the counter, and you can really see visible differences in the appearance of your teeth, even if you still drink coffee/wine. I say this as someone who can never ditch the coffee like you’re supposed to with these systems. So if you’re going for the whitest smile possible and a fresh, clean aftertaste, this is your best pick by far. It also tastes far better than any other whitening toothpaste I’ve tried.

Marvis Aquatic Mint

Aquatic Mint has a lovely flavor and is perfect is you’re a fan of wintergreen type products, it’s cool, refreshing, and aquatic. Similar to the Classic Strong Mint, this is more like a “blue” flavored fresh gum than a green, for lack of a better comparison.

It also has whitening benefits, keeps plaque and tartar away, leaves your mouth feeling fresh and clean after every brushing, like you’ve just left the dentist. If you’re a fan of really sweet and cool flavors like “the sea” (without any salt) and are looking for a daily burst of the perfect cleanse, this is your best bet. Do you always pick up blue colored mints or gums? Also a good sign this is for you, and it’s by far better than any drugstore cool mint toothpaste I have ever experienced.

Marvis Jasmin Mint

While you wouldn’t expect Jasmin to be a toothpaste flavor with any actual taste benefits, and if you already hate the sound of it or have tried it in food and hate it, this is not for you, I personally loved the flavor.

It’s very delicate and light, and not at all overpowering. The Jasmin flavor is extremely subtle and the brushing still feels very cleansing, and refreshing, and leaves you feeling extremely well rinsed and washed after every use. Even as someone who likes Jasmin as a scent, I was initially a bit skeptical about this product. But the actual product and taste were much different than what I was expecting.

It also has whitening benefits (though not to the same degree as some of the other Marvis products), and the same plaque and tartar removal, so you feel just as fresh and clean after use. Unless you absolutely hate Jasmin, try not to judge this before giving it a shot.

Marvis Orange Mint

The orange mint flavor was another Marvis Toothpaste I was initially a bit skeptical about, but with very subtle hints of citrus, this was actually extremely pleasant and refreshing to use and quite flavorful.

While not traditional for toothpaste, it left my entire mouth feeling tingly (in a good way), clean, refreshed, and it was really uplifting, especially to use in the morning. Like the Jasmin flavor, it was not at all overpowering and felt like using any regular toothpaste, but better. If you’re a fan of clean citrus flavors and looking for the same whitening, plaque, and tartar control benefits and sweet breath after use, this is definitely a top pick.

It’s an extremely refreshing and light flavor, rather than having any oriental or artificial type notes to it. Pleasantly surprised!

Marvis Cinnamon Mint

Out of all of the Marvis Toothpastes, I have tried (excluding licorice, which we have not rated in this review, but I may recommend to diehard fans of licorice flavors), this was likely my least favorite). While the cinnamon flavor was quite sweet and certainly not too overpowering, it still doesn’t quite seem like toothpaste to me, although this completely depends on individual preferences.

The good part is it still left me feeling fresh and clean, has excellent plaque and tartar control, and leaves you feeling extremely refreshed after every use. It still seems better than any over-the-counter toothpaste product I have used, without even a huge taste or preference for the cinnamon flavoring itself, which is saying quite a bit for Marvis’ collection in general and the quality of their ingredients and formula.

Marvis Toothpaste: Pros and Cons

Here are a look at some main pros and cons to bear in mind prior to purchasing Marvis’ Toothpaste:

Pros

  • The tastes/flavors of all of Marvis’ toothpastes are absolutely delicious (a personal preference), with some favorites including the classic strong mint, aquatic mint, jasmin, and classic whitening
  • Marvis does not taste like any other traditional toothpastes found in drugstores or on the market I have tried, and leave your mouth feeling incredibly fresh and clean (like coming from a trip to the dentists office for a cleaning)
  • The bestselling Marvis Aquatic Mint is not only refreshing and tastes clean, it also has great whitening benefits, and it actually seems to work better than other brands on the market (I would even compare it to some of the more expensive whitening brand strips sold on the market when used over time continually)
  • Product shelf-life: while a bit smaller than the average toothpaste, the product still lasts for months with twice-daily use, so the investment does go quite a long way and the product is so good it does not feel like a waste
  • All Marvis toothpastes can be used with any regular or electronic type toothbrush devices
  • Cruelty free and vegan company: Marvis does not test any of their products on any animals, use any animal product in any of their formulations, or during any manufacturing processes (all products made in Italy)
  • Relatively compact if you like to travel with your toothbrush/toothpaste with you to work for after lunch to fit in a ziplock
  • If you find yourself using mints or gum throughout the day, this is a toothpaste that truly offers a deep clean and leaves you feeling fresh when used after meals and continually, so you can skip on the office or work gum chewing habits

Cons

  • While a matter of personal preference, some of the Marvis flavor options (i.e. licorice and orange) did not really appeal to me or seem like something you’d want to use as a toothpaste option, however, some customers love them
  • Price: for a 3.8oz product, the $10 range is certainly steep for a toothpaste product, however, this is without a doubt the best toothpaste I have tried in my life, provides amazing benefits, and leaves you feeling incredible after use

The manufacturer, Marvis Toothpaste, has a strong return and exchange policy that honors full refunds upon dissatisfaction or allergy, and this policy favors the consumer, both new and returning.

In this case, you will receive a full refund equal to the entire purchase price of the item, if purchased via Amazon (it can’t be guaranteed to apply to individual stores or merchants).

Marvis Toothpaste: Worth It Winner?

While for many of us it may seem silly to splurge on the simple things in life, at only $10, toothpaste is one of those things (including Marvis) that lasts us forever, and this is by far the best toothpaste I have ever tried that does not compare to any drugstore brand or other product in in its category.

The flavors taste amazing, the feeling is like stepping right out of your own dentists office, and the plaque and tartar control is unmatched. The whitening benefits of a few of the products mentioned are also like using some of the more expensive strips and products you can buy over the counter, which to me ended up like feeling like a savings.

So if you like feeling clean and fresh throughout the day or want to ditch the at-work gum habit that secretly gets on everyones nerves, Marvis’ toothpaste is the highest quality product in comparison to any competitor I’ve ever tried.

Your dentist and coworkers will thank you, and it’s the small pick-me-ups that make a difference in feeling great everyday.

  1. I have always struggled with a bad gag reflex when brushing my teeth. More than 30 seconds and I risked yacking. I tried the licorice on a whim (I’m fond of licorice and it has soothing properties when it comes to upset stomach). I’ve been using it for about three weeks now and haven’t gagged once! I can now brush my teeth all the way until the 2 minute vibration goes off on my electric tooth brush! Love the texture it’s more like a lotion for the teeth, and the dentist smooth feel it gives my mouth.

    1. Please read ingredients list on Amazon. Marvis claims paraben-free but they are NOT! They have all four (4) of the harmful parabens and other ingredients that have dangerous high levels in one of their whitening agents. Plus they use a sulfate. This is false advertising.
