SuperBeets: is it Really a SuperFood?

SuperBeets has been marketed to be a SuperFood, it is a supplement that is said to boost the circulation in one’s body in order to help increase energy levels and stamina.  It is a highly concentrated form of beets that are rich in dietary nutrients and nitrites.  SuperBeets uses a patented process for drying in order to retain the integrity of the nitrites and nutrients of the beet.

These nitrites are then converted by your body into what is known as nitric oxide.  Nitric oxide has many benefits such as supporting a healthy blood pressure level, increased energy level, as well as promoting a healthy circulation throughout your body.  SuperBeets actually comes in two flavors black cherry and apple.

How do you use SuperBeets?

It is actually very simple to use, all you have to do is mix 1 whole scoop of the SuperBeets powder with around 4 ounces of water then shake or stir until the powder is completely liquefied.  After you finish shaking or stirring drink immediately.  Oh, yes I should mention that you just be making a sour face right about now.  In order to get the very best results, it is said to take it in the afternoon when you need a bit of an energy boost.  WARNING: do not use more than two scoops of SuperBeets within a 24 hour period.  If you are pregnant or breastfeeding this supplement is not for you.

Side Effects with SuperBeets

Now, as we all know anything and everything has some type of side effects that come along with taking it.  So, when it comes to SuperBeets it is no different from the rest and here is what I have found on that subject: Gas, Nausea, Upset Stomach, Bloating, and Cramping. There is one other side effect that may get anyone’s feathers in a ruffle if they do not know about it.  It’s called Beeturia ok so that really sounds bad, doesn’t it?  But, Beeturia only means that your urine will turn red and you may also find that your stool will be red also.  So, if this does happen do not freak out it is only the natural coloring of the beets.

My Thoughts on SuperBeets

Alright, I have been taking SuperBeets for about 3 months now.  I do make it a point to take it right after my lunch, this way I take it every day at the same time and it does add a little pep to your step.  Oh, and by the way when it says may cause your urine to turn red, this is no joke yes my urine did turn beet red to be exact.

If I did not know this was a possibility I probably would have actually freaked out and called my doctor.  Now that I have that out of the way, yes I noticed that I did have more energy after using SuperBeets for a period of time.  Now, it was not an immediate reaction, like some people believe it to be but over the course of time that I took the supplement it did make me feel better.  As for the other side effect, I did not get any of them such as an upset stomach, nausea, bloating or cramping.  Although the taste really needs to be worked on, maybe if you actually like beets with a twist of apple or black cherry (I don’t know but I really do not like the taste) but it is only 4 ounces so down the hatch it goes.

So, I would recommend this supplement to anyone that may need a boost of energy within those afternoon hours, but you will have to be consistent on taking it in order to get the full benefits of this SuperBeets Powder. If you’re looking for a great supplement that is not going to let you down, then go with the superbeets!
