Naturebox Review: Are the snacks any good?

FTC Disclosure: This is a review of my experience with NatureBox. I enjoyed my experience with NatureBox so I have agreed to be an affiliate. This post contains affiliate links.

Allow me to explain my experience with NatureBox from the very beginning. A few weeks ago, for New Year’s, my wife and I made a promise to one another that for our New Year’s Resolution, we would begin eating healthier. We’ve already begun preparing healthier meals for a few months now, but there was still room to improve when it came to our soda intake and the snacks we choose to eat.

During the first week of January, I noticed an advertisement for NatureBox. When I first browsed their website, it came to me that this company’s snacks might be the solution to snacking healthier for my wife and me. Here’s a big selling point of their snacks:

None of the snacks  use artificial ingredients, high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils.

Perfect!

The fact that the snacks are healthier than the typical snacks you may pick up at your local supermarket is great, but the next important question – Do they even taste good?

What’s the best and possibly only way to find out? Yep. By buying some myself – and I did!

Let’s look at what I bought:

This is the packaging in which your snacks arrive in if you purchase their “The Great Eight BestSellers” snack pack.

These are all the different snacks that came in the box. As you can see, all the snacks have a uniform but attractive looking packaging.

This was actually how it was packaged directly from them before I began moving them around to find the remaining four snacks under the top four.

So how does it work?

For a first-time user on NatureBox , you may be a bit confused when it comes to their “Membership” program and how it works, so I’ll do my best to break it down.

membership information naturebox

Think of Costco as you would of NatureBox. Only “Members” are allowed to shop Naturebox.com just as you would in Costco.

The membership fee per month is $5.00. BUT! That membership fee is applied as credit towards your next order. So let’s say you just paid your January membership fee of $5. Later in the month, you decide to order $30 in snacks. Well, instead of paying $30 for your snacks, you’ll pay $25 instead (due to them applying your monthly membership credit to the order). So ultimately, there really isn’t a “Membership Fee” since what you pay is then applied right back to your next order. In addition, credits are rolled over into next month and do not expire for 12 months.

eg. You’ve paid your membership for January, February and March. You haven’t placed any orders during that time. At the end of March, you decide to place an order. The total is $35. When you checkout, the total will now be $20 instead.

What did I order?

naturebox checkout

This was my checkout page for the “The Great Eight Bestsellers” snack pack. When you place your first order, you will be enrolled into the Membership automatically and you will not have to pay for your first month of membership. You may notice that I paid a bit for shipping, that was simply because I selected “expedited shipping”. Had I stayed with “regular shipping”, I would have paid $0.00 for shipping. Just to note, all orders over $25.00 will be shipped out for free by Naturebox unless you want expedited shipping.

What did my snack pack include:

  • Big Island Pineapple
  • Salt and Pepper Lentil Loops
  • White Cheddar Caramel Popcorn
  • Probiotic Power Mix
  • Whole Wheat Vanilla Animal Cookies
  • Whole Wheat Chocolate Animal Cookies
  • Honey BBQ Crunch
  • Garlic Bread Cheese Crisps

As a new customer, I didn’t know what snacks to choose, so I figured grabbing the Best Seller box was the best approach, and I’m glad that I did.

To not leave anyone hanging, I’ve created a recommendation list.

PASS ON IT!

My ultimate favorite snack has to be “White Cheddar Caramel Popcorn“!

white cheddar caramel popcorn
The bag contains a mixture of popcorn that is either covered in white cheddar or caramel. All I can say is that it tastes amazing!

Just so we are clear here, I didn’t love all the snacks in the snack box as indicated by my recommendation list. But this is where this company completely shines:

money back guarantee

That is one heck of a “return policy”. If you buy ANY snack from Naturebox and find that you do not like it, simply email them, and they will apply store credit to your account. When I read this policy initially, I was completely sold on their products because I knew that if I didn’t like my snacks, I could request a different set.

To bring this review to a close, Naturebox has received a thumbs up from me and I will continue to buy their snacks. At the time of this review, they have over 100 different snacks, and continue to add more on a monthly basis. In terms of price, their snacks are priced are very reasonably. For example, these Greek Yogurt Pretzels are only $2.49, or these Peanut Butter Nom Noms (cookies) are only $3.29. We are typically all accustomed to paying more for healthier products, but when it comes to shopping at Naturebox, you’ll find yourself spending as little as you would buying unhealthy snacks.
