Review: Dyson Airwrap (Is it worth $600+?)

Okay, so after waiting for what felt like forever, I’m finally spilling the tea on the Dyson Airwrap. Let me take you back to the beginning – cue the anxiety and guilt when I first hit that purchase button. I mean, who spends that much on a hair tool, right? But rewind to the days when I was using this cheap-ish hair-dryer-barrel-brush thing. It was alright, until that one day it went all bonkers, making weird noises and even smoking while I was doing my hair. Nightmare material, I’m telling you. That burnt smell was haunting my dreams.

So, in my quest for hair tool redemption, I stumbled upon the Dyson Airwrap. It was a classic “should I, shouldn’t I” scenario in my head, but I figured, hey, if it doesn’t wow me, I can just send it back – no biggie. Now, let’s get one thing straight: I’ve got this fantastic hair stylist who works magic on my locks. But truth be told, I’m not the patient type, and trying to recreate those salon vibes at home was a lost cause – until Dyson walked into my life.

What came with my Dyson Airwrap purchase!

Before we begin, make sure you’re ordering Dyson Airwrap from a legitimate retailer, NOT from a counterfeit seller. For your convenience, here is the Amazon link to an authentic Dyson retailer.

My experience with the Dyson Airwrap

Fast forward to now, and the Dyson Airwrap has me dangerously close to looking like I just stepped out of a salon every single time I use it. And here’s the kicker – it’s quick, it’s easy, and dare I say, it’s kinda fun. My ride-or-die attachment is the soft/flex brush. I just give my dry hair a quick once-over right before I dash out the door or hop on a work video call. And when I’m feeling extra boujee (like for my bro’s wedding), I switch it up with the other attachments to add some volume or waves. Oh, and shoutout to my secret weapon – volumizing foam for those special occasions.

For temperature, I stick to the “middle” setting.

Now, for the lowdown on my hair situation: it’s been a bob party all year, with the longer bits barely grazing my shoulders. My hair’s fine, but there’s a whole lot of it, and that “effortless” look was basically a unicorn for me until Mr. Dyson showed up. I usually skip the bigger barrel because the smaller one is my go-to for my length and the looks I’m going for. And yeah, the rounded volumizing brush isn’t my absolute fave, but I’ll admit I haven’t given it a fair shot yet. The others are already rocking my world.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I still think this thing is on the pricey side. But guess what? I can’t help but love it. Seriously, it’s like my hair’s newfound BFF. And the best part? All the compliments I’m raking in about my hair now. So, if that old hair tool of mine hadn’t gone all Chernobyl on me, I’d probably still be side-eyeing anyone saying the Dyson Airwrap is worth the splurge. Yeah, it’s a bit too much for my wallet, but dang, do I love the results and the boost in my hair confidence. Sometimes, treating yourself to the right tool is the ultimate game-changer, you know?
