Review: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (Best acne product for under $20?)
Who doesn’t know the struggle of having a bunch of very persistent big pimples. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Let’s be honest, the big ones are the most annoying – big and unable to hide and often times they hurt. I have used several different spot treatment creams, from the dermatologist as well as from the drug store.
The problem with the ones from the dermatologist has been that I needed a prescription as well as they were always really expensive. The drug store creams have been good but I always felt like I had to put a lot of it on the spots to really see an effect.
Now let me introduce you to my new holy grail. Mario Badescu has been getting attention in the last months mainly for the Rose Water Spray. However, I have also tried the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion over the last few months and let me tell you, it works amazingly.
You can get it on Amazon for about $17. It comes in a 1 fl. oz. bottle. Now, when I ordered it, I didn’t realize how big the bottle was. So when it arrived I was first surprised that it was such a small bottle but I said, ok, let me try it.
What you need to know is that you only need such a small amount of the lotion, you won’t believe it. The bottle contains two things in it. There is a pinkish lotion on the bottom of the bottle and a transparent liquid that fills up the bottle. The lotion in the bottom is what we want to use to apply to the spots.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: How To Use?
You take a cotton swap and dip it into the bottle until you reach the pinkish lotion on the bottom. You don’t need to dip it all the way until the bottom but you need the cotton swap to touch the lotion. Then just take out the cotton swap and place it on the pimple. Think of it as painting the lotion on the spots you need treatment on.
I would recommend doing this at night since the lotion leaves a light pink color behind. In the morning you can just rinse it off with water. It is meant for spot treatment rather than applying all over the face. Most importantly, make sure to never shake the bottle!
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: Does it work?
Yes, for me it has worked wonders. It uses salicylic acid, calamine and other quick-drying ingredients. I was able to see results the very next day already. It is affordable and you really don’t need to use a lot. I can see myself using the bottle for quite a while even though it might not seem to be a lot. I would say try it out and see if it works for you, too.
Lastly, if you end up liking this lotion, I wanted to mention that they also have Acne Cleaners and a Serum that could also further help with acne problems if the lotion has worked for you.
